The “largest one”and the“smallest one” are concepts proposed by Hui Shi (370?-310?BC). He called that which is so large that it encompasses everything the“largest one,”and that which is so small that it is no longer divisible the“smallest one.”This is an acknowledgement that there are limits to the largeness and smallness of things, and a denial that there are infinite spatial sizes. On the other hand, regardless of whether it is the largest or smallest in size, each is a“one,”which hints at the idea that size is relative.
